The concert project of the year 2002 is dedicated to two jubilaries from South-America and Europe: the centenarian great Brazilian lyricist Carlos Drummond de Andrade and the Austrian Nicolaus Lenau, whose 200th birthday will be celebrated this year. Lenau's unstable and romantic life reflects itself in his poetry which is permeated by deep longing and the sensation of homelessness; it is the contrary to Carlos Drummond, who looked upon everybody as his brother because he recognised himself in his fellow men like in a mirror.: in his Canção amiga it says I walk along a street which leads through many countries. If they don't see me, I see them and greet old friends. So the dramaturgy of Renato Mismetti expects five Lenau-settings of the young Alberto Nepomuceno opposed by three times three newly created songs of Drummond's poems, composed by Kilza Setti, Ricardo Tacuchian and Edino Krieger, who is the president of the Brazilian Music Academy in Rio de Janeiro. This cycle is interrupted for contrast with songs whose master copies stem from two well.known Brazilian lyricists, the jubilary of the year before, Cecília Meireles and our contemporary Hilda Hilst. Three of those songs have been composed to Hilda Hilst's verses by her nephew, the important Brazilian composer Almeida Prado whilst a second group of Hilst-songs was created by the Rumanian composer Violeta Dinescu who has been living in Germany for a long time and who wrote already the cycle of songs in 2001after verses of Cecilia Meireles for the concert-project Magic of Amazônia.

The program is being rounded off by three works of Heitor Villa-Lobos, Norman Fraser and Marlos Nobre. 
In Villa-Lobos' Poema de Itabira, a rhapsodic chiselled work, the poet Drummond almost visits his own past - the composition sounds like the rounding off of the first part before the intermission. Marlos Nobre contributed his Drummond-setting O Canto Multiplicado , an elegy to his great colleague Frederico García Lorca and a cantata of a tragic character to the program. Since the beginning of the project line in the year 2000 he has always been present with new works in the program and documents this way - as a spiritual father of the project idea together with Renato Mismetti -also his dedication for the idea of the world wide network of artists, whose number should continually increase.

The importance that is being attached to this concert-project by prominent figures is not only recognisable through the top-class cast of the contributing musicians: that also goes for the translators of the lyrics and the authors of the introduction of the works and the life descriptions of the poets and composers, who furnished all of the original articles of the program. Amongst them are personalities like the in Brazil very famous language-scholar, theatre-critic and Shakespeare-translator Bárbara Heliodora and the doyen of the German translators of Portuguese lyrics Curt Meyer-Clason. These two prominent personalities in the international literature scene will also attend personally the world première of the new works in Bayreuth, as well as the six composers, who worked for the project.
